Let Go of All Anger

In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun down while you are still angry.

                Everyone has anger from time to time, and understanding it and knowing how to handle it properly is important.

            Anger begins as a feeling and then manifests itself in words and actions. You feel something, and it causes you to do or say something. Anger is not necessarily always sin – however, what you choose to do with anger directly determines your quality of life.

            All anger has the same effect on your life. It upsets you, causing you to feel pressure. Keeping anger locked inside can even be dangerous to your health. So you must take responsibility for your anger and learn to deal with it.

            If you struggle with anger, ask God to help you process it and bring it to closure. You can be bitter or better – the choice is yours!

Be a God Pleaser

Servants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you as pleasers of men, but in simplicity of purpose, because of your reverence for the Lord and as a sincere expression of your devotion to Him.

COLOSSIAN 3:22

This Scripture tells you to be a good, faithful, loyal, profitable, and hardworking employee. You are to do your job well and with a good attitude. You are not to be two-faced, showing your employer what you think he wants to see and then doing differently when he is not around.  You need to be real, sincere, honest, and trustworthy.

            Do you know what happens when you do your work with all your heart and soul, and do it not unto men but unto God? You receive your reward from Him, not your boss.  You can look to the Lord for the reward you truly deserve.  TODAY, decide to please God and His blessings will follow.

Heed the Signposts

Heed the Signposts

 And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, this is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.

ISAIAH 30:21

            Suppose you are driving along the road. In the middle of the road are lines. Some are yellow double lined warning that if you cross them, you run a high risk of being in a head – on collision. Some are broken white lines that mean you can cross into the other lane and pass the car in front of you as long as you are cautious and check for oncoming traffic.

There are also signposts that give specific direction or warning: “Diversion,” “One Way,” “Under Construction,” “Curve Ahead.” If you heed the instructions, you will avoid getting into an unsafe situation.

The same is true in life. There are spiritual signposts that instruct us about how to stay under God’s protection. If you will heed these signposts, you will be able to safely remain on course. For example, always follow peace and you will be going in the right direction.

Jesus is a friend

Jesus is a friend who knows all your faults and still loves you anyway.

But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5 : 8

 Matthew was a tax collector, a hated man among the Jews for helping Rome tighten its occupation. Even so….Jesus loved Matthew, and eventually chose him as one of his apostles.

          Peter had a quick temper, his emotions easily triggered by circumstances. He denied knowing Jesus three times during the most critical hours of Jesus’ life on earth. Even so….Jesus loved Peter and empowered him to lead the early church.

          Saul “made havoc” of the church in Jerusalem, leading raids on the homes of Christians and imprisoning the devout. He consented to the death of Stephen, and was one of the official witness of his execution. He even requested letters of authority to extend the persecution of the church to other cities, including Damascus. Even so….Jesus loved Saul, appeared to him in a light from heaven, and called him to repentance.

          No matter what a person may have done – no matter their character flaws – Jesus loves them. He loved them to the point of dying on their behalf on the cross…including dying for your enemy….the friends or family member who disappoints you or frustrates you….indeed, including you.

Who Is in Control?

Who Is in Control?

But  I say, walk and live in the spirit

Galatians 5:16

Who is in control of your life? Is it you or is it God?

We are to willingly give the Holy Spirit to control of our lives, allowing him to lead and guide us. Most of us would say this is the desire of our heart, but precious few of us are doing it. What is the problem?

Our flesh tries to control. Galatians says plainly that the flesh is continually opposed to the spirit. ( Galatians 5 : 17. ) What the flesh wants, the spirit never wants. And what the spirit desires, the flesh never agree with.

We must refuse the evil and choose the good. The Holy Spirit’s role in our lives includes prompting us to make correct choices, but His role is not – and never will be – to force us to make them.

God will never hurt us. He wants us to trust His direction enough simply to obey it, even if we don’t totally understand it. When we willingly give the Holy Spirit control of our daily lives, He lead us into victory.

Give the Holy Spirit to control of your life. He will lead you into the perfect will of God for you, which includes exceeding, abundant blessings, peace, and joy.

Seek God’s Wisdom

Seek God’s Wisdom

If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding,

and it will be given him. 

JAMES  1:5

If things seem so complicated that you’re no longer able to enjoy life as god intended, it’s time to seek God’s wisdom. In all things God wants you to acknowledge and seek Him, use wisdom, and make the best decisions you know how to make.

Through a simple prayer from wherever you are, you can ask God for wisdom about any situation you face. Before you commit to participating in certain activities, buying things, or being involved with other people, check with God. If you have peace about it, then proceed. But if you don’t feel right about it, wait.

Seek God’s wisdom and make decisions based on what you sense in your spirit. Then move forward, believing that God will bless you because you acknowledge Him in your decisions.

But if anyone has this world’s goods…and sees his brother … in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him?... Let us not love in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth.

I JOHN 3:17-18

Many people love things and use people to get them. But God intends for you to love people and use things to bless them. Sharing your possessions with others is one way to move love from the “talking about it stage” to the “doing it stage.”

God has given you a heart of compassion, but you choose whether to open or close it. There are hurting people all around you, and simple acts of kindness can make these individuals feel loved and valuable.

Don’t just strive to have more prosperity; strive to excel in giving. If you do, you will discover God makes sure you have enough to meet your own needs, with plenty to give away.

Accept God’s Grace

[God] … is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

EPHESIANS 3:20

Life is hectic-and if you try to do everything yourself you’ll stay exhausted. Rushing and struggling to keep up the pace wears you out physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But you can make some changes.

First, examine all your activities and allow the Holy Spirit to show you the things that drain your energy and don’t produce worthwhile fruit. Then be willing to give them up. You may even have to choose between the good and the best.

Second, learn to receive more of God’s grace. Grace is power - God getting involved and doing through you what you could never do on your own. His power can help you accomplish more than you could imagine. So accept His help and start enjoying life.

Take Authority over the Devil

Take Authority over the Devil

Be well balanced, … vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring, seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

1 PETER 5:8

Satan’s attacks are fierce in these last days but you don’t need to run from his roar. As a child of God you have the authority to defeat him in the name of Jesus.

Satan can attack you mind, will, and emotions. He will attack your body with weariness and all manner of illness. His lies are endless and persistent and he delights in playing on your emotions. But you can learn to discern and aggressively confront every satanic assault, and be victorious over his evil plans.

Exercising authority over the enemy is more than verbal commands….your words and actions must go together. Speaking or praying the Words releases faith, but you must also walk in new levels of obedience. So follow God’s plan and put the devil on the run.

Be a Believer, Not an Achiever

Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun with the spirit, are you now reaching perfection on the flesh?

 GALATIANS 3:3

Trying to make things happen on your own without God’s help is foolish and often causes feelings of frustration and condemnation. It makes no sense for you to try to do what only God can do.

God wants you to realize it is impossible for you to change yourself – only He can do that through the marvellous wonder of His grace, which is free gift to everyone  who will receive it.

If you have been struggling to achieve good results on your own, it’s time to make a change. God  wants you to struggle less and believe more. Accept the free gift of God’s grace and allow Him to change your life into the peaceful, abundant life He has planned for you.

Dreams and Vision

Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish.

PROVERBS 29:18

The Israelites had no positive vision for their lives – no dreams, they knew where they came from, but they did not know where they were going. Everything was based on what they had already seen and could see. They did not know how to see with “the eye of faith.”

Jesus came to open the prison doors and set the captives free. You will only begin to progress when you start to believe you can experience freedom. You must have a positive vision for your life – a vision for a future that is not determined by your past or even your present circumstances.

Exercise your faith today and take a positive look at the possibilities God has planned for you. Begin to “call those things that be not as though they are” (see Romans 4:17). Think and speak about your future in a positive way, according to what God has placed in your heart.

            Think about Jesus. Immediately after being baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost, He was led into the wilderness to be tested and tried by the devil. He did not complain and become discouraged and depressed. He did not think or speak negatively. He went through each test victoriously.

Can you imagine Jesus travelling around the country with His disciples talking about how hard everything was? Can you picture Him complaining about how difficult going to the cross was going to be … or how uncomfortable it was to roam the countryside with no bed to sleep in at night? You and I have the mind of Christ, and we can handle things the way He did: by being mentally prepared through “victory thinking”.

Stronger by Faith

The Lord is my Strength and my Song, and He has become my Salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

EXODUS 15:2

God does not want to just give you strength; He wants to be your strength. In 1 Samuel 15:29 God is referred to as the Strength of Israel. There was a time when Israel knew God was their strength. But when they forget it, they always started to fail and their lives began to be filled with destruction.

How do you receive strength from God? By faith. Hebrews 11:11 says that by faith Sarah received strength to conceive a child when she was well past childbearing age. By faith you can receive strength to stay in difficult marriage, raise a difficult child, or prosper in a difficult job. Start receiving God as your strength by faith it will quicken your body as well as spirit and soul.
